We are Free of TV!
August 3rdYes indeed, we sold our television. It was a nice one, too.
Our upcoming cross—country move forced us to seriously evaluate the state of our material possesions. We’re trying to reduce our belongings and simplify as much as possible, and something had to give. Don’t get me wrong, we have enjoyed the TV immensely, and it’s not like we’re giving up shows, movies, and video games entirely. John’s 20″ iMac will act as our media center for now. He already purchased subscriptions to The Daily Show and The Colbert Report on iTunes.
It’s a little unsettling to see a giant space on the shelf where the TV used to be, but it is also incredibly liberating. Now when I want to unwind, I might just have to sit with a glass of wine and pet my kitties or enjoy the mountain view. Not a bad trade at the end of the day.
